I've been sick and struggling quite a bit all week, but these samples came in and I managed to get through the ones that were deemed most important results-wise from the submitter. I had 2 samples of cocaine and 1 vial of injectable Ketamine solution. I've determined that both samples are pretty comparable to each other, but if I had to use the hit quality to make a judgement, the sample that was being called "good coke" was matched all the cocaine standards slightly less than the other.
The Ketamine injectable gave me trouble at first, but reagent testing the liquid matched that of ketamine, and after working a little ethyl alcohol magic, I was able to easily isolate the ketamine salts from the liquid and get a very clear reading on the ketamine with the FTIR.
Another drug checking technique discovery by me that I will probably never amount to anything that advances me in my career or garners any respect from the network of harm reduction professionals with masters degrees in social work or public health that get paid a lot of money to pretend to care about PWUD--and they've never touched any real drugs in their lives, or had actually vulnerable PWUD friends and peers! :D
